Effective Teaching Strategies for students with attention - deficit disorder.

NCT Educational Services conducted a Workshop for educators and parents on effective strategies in the classroom and at home for students. Our workshop focused on Executive Functioning techniques and how to work with students with attention deficit disorder. Below are a few tips for the classroom setting.

With effective strategies, educators can assist these students in enhancing their focus and comprehension of information, as well as understanding how concepts interrelate. Here are some teaching approaches tailored for students with ADHD:

  1. Reduce Distractions: Minimize external stimuli to help maintain attention.

  2. Establish a Regular Routine: Consistency in schedules can aid in promoting stability and predictability.

  3. Incorporate Breaks and Physical Activity: Offer intervals for movement and short breaks to re-energize.

  4. Offer Regular Feedback and Encouragement: Provide constructive feedback and positive reinforcement to reinforce progress.

  5. Clearly Communicate Instructions and Expectations: Ensure clarity in directions and repeat them as needed for better understanding.
